Close to 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, generating powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Locals observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities verified that various areas across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to address the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

At one point on yesterday, more than 28,000 power users in Victoria were without power.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the current weather patterns.
